What is MBSR
MBSR is an 8-week mindfulness programme developed by Professor Jon-Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the late 1970s.
Through guided mindfulness practices, gentle movement, group discussion and home practice, you’ll explore how you relate to thoughts, emotions, stress and everyday experiences. You’ll develop practical skills that support greater awareness and resilience.
Course Format
Eight weekly sessions and a half-day retreat
The programme runs over eight weekly sessions, each lasting approximately 2.5 hours, with an additional
half-day retreat between weeks six and seven.
A daily home practice of around 40 minutes per day is recommended throughout the programme.
